In 2010, the Nuckolls Fund for Lighting Education intends to offer four possible grants: the 2010 20th Anniversary Grant, the Nuckolls Fund Grant, which has been given annually since 1989 for programs at the college level; the Edison Price Fellowship Grant, which is given to individual educators to enable them to further their own education, and the Lesley Wheel Introductory Lighting Program Grant in support of new coursework at institutions not presently offering lighting. The Fund is also offering the option of a grant that does not fall into one of these three categories. See New Grant Option below.

2010 20th Anniversary Grant

Amount:           up to $50,000
Description:
The Fund's Board of Directors initiated this expanded financial incentive to encourage the submission of an increased number of proposals for its consideration in hopes of finding more creative ideas for lighting education.

The Nuckolls Fund Grant

Amount:           $20,000
Description:
Awarded on the college level for developing and delivering an innovative new or expanded course in lighting at your institution.

The Edison Price Fellowship Grant

Amount:           $10,000
Description:
Enables a lighting educator to spend a significant portion of a semester in the lighting industry working with a manufacturing or design firm, or at a college or university with a thriving lighting program working with an established professor.

Lesley Wheel Introductory Lighting Program Grant

Amount:           $20,000 (over 4 years)
Description:
Directed to programs in Architecture, Engineering, Technology and Interior Design that have either minimal or no lighting design offerings in their curricula now, but have a strong interest in adding them.

New Grant Option

If you have an idea for funding that would further the cause of quality lighting education but it does not fall into one of the listed grant categories, please feel free to submit it as a proposal. Your proposal should include a plan for implementation and should generally conform to the Required Submission Information listed in the other RFPs.
